Effective December 1, 2023: Households with a bill credit of $1,000 or more are not eligible for an appointment.
Heating Assistance
Start and end dates for heating assistance are subject to change based on the availability of funding. Heating Assistance is provided during the winter months, and the offer of assistance is estimated to be available until the end of March 2026 or when funding is exhausted.
December 1, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.: Senior households (all adults in the household are 65+) and homebound households may begin scheduling appointments in available appointment slots. Medically Homebound households in which all adults in the household are homebound should call (470) 704-5097 and leave a detailed voice message to schedule an appointment. Homebound households should NOT schedule an appointment through the online appointment system.
January 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.: Appointment scheduling for the general public opens. The general public may begin scheduling appointments on January 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. General public appointments scheduled prior to January 2, regardless of the appointment date, will be cancelled.
List of Docs to Submit
The following documents are REQUIRED:
- Copy of Social Security cards for ALL household members
- Copy of State-issued ID of the applicant*
- Copy of Proof of income for the last 30 days for ALL household members 18+**
- Copy of Current Heating bill
- Copy of Current Electric bill
*If someone is representing an applicant, they must provide a copy of their state ID and a letter from the applicant, signed by them, giving permission to sign on their behalf.
**ANY household member with No Income must complete a zero-income form during the appointment.
